Lecture: The Life and Works of John Rogers
FREE for MHA Members

John Rogers was both a talented artist and successful businessman, and that combination made his sculptures a popular phenomenon of the Victorian era in America. By using plaster, he made his statuary affordable to the masses, selling approximately 80,000 sculptures in his lifetime. Join us for a talk about Rogers and his sculptures and learn about his connections to Manchester, from his work as a mechanic at Amoskeag to his gift to the city of the Lincoln statue. This lecture will be presented by MHA Executive Director Jeff Barraclough who curated the special exhibit, "The People's Sculptor: The Life and Works of John Rogers", now on display at the Millyard Museum.
